Trusting In God

It crazy how God can reveal things to you even through your work🤯. My mind has been blown away these passing weeks 🤯🤯. Many of you may already know that I recently started a small business and I have just in fact finished one of my collections called Trust in God💃🏾.

As I was making this collection I was touched by the particular verses I was gathering up to put on the mugs. And it was as if God was whispering to me telling me that these mugs would not only touch others but would touch me also.

Trusting in God is easy to say in writing but in reality, it’s one of the hardest things to do. I mean even the Israelites were struggling, for example, when Moses left for 2 seconds (maybe a bit longer than that 😂) to talk with God on the mountain and the Israelites in no time had already started building their idols and worshipping them (Exodus 24, Exodus 32). I wish this was the only case but unfortunately, the bible has PLENTY of records of the Israelites not trusting God time and time again.

However, we can’t blame the Israelites here it’s difficult believing and trusting in something you cannot see. This is where faith comes in,
“By Faith We Understand
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
without faith it’s hard to trust God. And the stories of the Israelites prove that God knew that this was exactly the case for us humans. we care quickly to rely on things we can see but when it comes to God we waver.

I began to understand more deeply why God puts such high emphasis on trusting Him and the blessings that come with it. He is a faithful God who wants us to trust Him, to depend on Him,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;” (Proverbs 3:5)

Trusting in God benefits us in so many ways and not only that, it allows the Glory of God to be seen through us.

I was encouraged as I did this collection and I am grateful to God for teaching me to trust and depend on Him more. To not just trust Him in the good times but to continue to trust Him daily with everything in my life and with that watch His blessings pour on me (psalms 2:12)😌🙌🏾

I urge you all today to switch your mindsets, don’t rely on your own understanding but look unto God and trust in Him.
For what God has planned for us is only for our good.🙏🏾
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.” (Psalms 84:11)

When Did I Start…

Popping out of one’s bubble can be hard when focusing on ourselves is so easy. The more we focus on our needs and revolve everything around ourselves the tougher our bubbles become. Some can even become as tough as titanium (actually searched this up, much stronger than steel😬). When the bubble gets to this state we may feel like everything is okay and that we are functioning smoothly🤦🏾‍♀️. However, in reality, we are delaying God’s plan for us and limiting His ability to work through us.

Song of Solomon 8:8, NKJV

We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts:
what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?”

I was listening to a sermon at church and this verse surprised me 😲. It not your typical verse that you would hear a preacher reference. I began to recall a post I did on this topic 2 years ago (Pop that bubble). And God began to reveal a couple of things.

Allow me to dive 🏊🏾‍♀️ into this scripture a little bit.
To have “no breasts” is to lack something
To have full breasts is to not lack that which we need.
For women in that time, full breasts were a sign of having the ability to properly nurture a child and give them the necessary nutrients.

In this scripture, the shulamite brothers were worried because their “little sister” with “no breasts” and would not be prepared for her being spoken for (back then it was in regards to finding a suitor). “What will we do” they were troubled because she would not be ready because of her lack of breasts. Likewise, God is worried when we bubble ourselves, trust only ourselves and when the times comes lack preparation for Him to speak through us.

The more consumed we are in ourselves and the more we try to do things ourselves, the smaller our “breasts” become. These small breasts symbolise the lack we have of the necessary things that God wants to instil in us to do what He has planned.

The more selfish we become the more we depend on our own power, our own will and become less dependent on God.

But is it not written: “…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit,
saith the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6, NKJV)

And I will reveal the truth about the dangers of selfish bubbles.
When we are in this state especially as Christians, based on experience, when things fail we are most likely to go to God accusatorily. “Why did you let this happen, Lord?” “why me?” “I feel so far from you” “why have you forsaken me Lord..?” am I hitting the right buttons here 🛎.

In these moments we are so focused on ourselves we forget what God has done and continues to do for us. We disregard the small wins in life and blame God for the loss of our bigger desires. We Forget that this very breath, every day we live is by His grace. He decides that we are worthy to live another day and I don’t know about you but that in itself is enough to never doubt God and to be so thankful. We are like the “little sister “with “no breasts” 👀 🙆🏾‍♀️ yea I know tragic truth 😪

A couple of weeks ago this was me 😱shocker I know. and as I was in prayer
God began to remind me “was it not I who…”, “Was it not I that…”. I came to the realisation that I was so focused on what I must accomplish if I could accomplish it that I completely forgot that I had a capable God.🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
And all I could say in the end was “when did I start…”
When did I start forgetting what God had already done for me?
When did I start relying on myself?
When did I start forming my bubble?
When did I start not thanking God even for a new day?🥺

And with this, I repented and thanked God for this reminder.😭🙏🏾

On a final note, I would like to say, it’s not about me it’s not even about you, it’s about us giving our lives to Him, fully depending on God and allowing Him FULL access to work in us. And that can only happen when we break the selfish bubble around us and allow God in.

Some of you have nearly unbreakable bubbles, you may be a beginner Christian or have never known God before. But if you feel this way that you need to break out of this bubble and allow God in then I invite you to do this sinners prayer and receive Jesus into your heart. That is the first step to breaking that tough bubble.
Sinner’s prayer 🙏🏾

After this feel free to contact me and I am more than willing to help you through this new Journey of your with Christ.

The 7 Major Benefits Of The Presence Of God

A continuum with the Presence of God theme this month (previous post). We now have identified what the presence of God is and how to connect with Him in this presence. Next is understanding that the presence of God is there for our BENEFIT😃.
God wants to bless us 🥰
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32, NKJV). The plans He has for every one of us is not of evil but of peace to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). God is a gracious God! 🙌🏾

There are 7 major benefits of the presence of God we will be exploring today.

In the presence of God we have:

1. Life
“Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.” (Acts 17:25, NKJV)

Genesis 2:7, NKJV
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

God is the one who gave us life from the beginning to the present and even the reason we will wake up tomorrow is all by His grace and power. He is the giver of life, and in His presence there is life.

Psalms 91:16, NKJV
“With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
God is the only one who can prolong our lives. This verse ties in perfectly into the next benefit🤗

2. Salvation
He will show us His salvation. As mentioned in the last post, the divine plan of God to send His only begotten son to die on the cross for our sins (John 3:16) and through this not only did we obtain a right to salvation, to connect with Him again as His children (John1:12), but everlasting life.

John 10:9, NKJV
“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”
Through salvation, we have access to better things, to God’s blessings that He wants to give us, in all areas of life, health, wealth, education etc.💃🏾🎉

3. Works of God
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33, NKJV)

This applies to us as the children of God in His presence we must proceed to do our father’s work, just as Christ also did God’s work (Luke 2:49). When we do the business of the Kingdom of God, we don’t need to worry about other things, for EVERYTHING ELSE and yes EVERYTHING ELSE! will be added unto us. This really shows the value God holds on those who do His business here on earth. “19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV)

This doesn’t exclude also performing signs and wonders, healing and miracles (John 14:12) (Mark 16:20). The presence of God allows us to do such works in Him.

4. Healthy relationships
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5, NKJV) and (Jeremiah 29:11)

The Lord has planned and ordained good things for your future, in His presence you can depend on Him, cling to Him and trust Him that He will provide someone for you far better than what you had imagined. God is a provider of healthy relationships👏🏾✨.
In this category, there are also supernatural gatherings – where God’s presence is there and great things happen (Matthew 18:20). He is there when His people gather in agreeance.😍

5. The power and capacity to build and achieve
“16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:16-19, NKJV)

Just as Peter was given power in the presence of God, so will we be given the power to build things for the glory of God. For some of you, it may be to build churches, ministries and other businesses that will glorify Him and any other sort of building. Moreover, whatever we bind or loose on earth will also bound and loosed in heaven🤯. That is real power!💪🏾 And this verse also blends well with the next benefit.

6. Defence, protection and victories

“…and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.(Matthew 16:18)
With the presence of God, we have His protection as we do His work and we build for His glory and in these things we have victory. (Joshua 1:6) This is one of my favourite verses as it assures us that in His presence we have to not fear for He will be with us and He will never leave nor forsake. People, families, even pets may leave you but God will never leave you.
Here are more verses on his protection, defence (Isaiah 4:5, Zechariah 2:4-5)

7. Eternal states

This is our ability to be able to receive that eternal life to be with Christ at the end of days. And no one can get there unless through Jesus Christ, that salvation through receiving Him (John 14:1-6)

For all those who fill in their hearts that they want to receive Jesus, be in the presence of God and receive all these blessings.
You can do what we call a sinner’s prayer to receive Him (sinner’s prayer)
and once you have done this belief in your heart that you are saved.🙏🏾✨

Also, message me if you have and I will be happy to guide you on the next steps.❤️

The Sweetness Of A Thank you

My heart was full of joy and my day was made brighter all because of just one statement “Thank you”☺️. How do you feel when someone thanks you? For me the past few days, I have been thanked unexpectedly for unexpected things😳. If you’re like me, I don’t know how to act when I am thanked, I’m rather very awkward 😅 and just simply end up thanking them for thanking me🤣🤷🏾‍♀️. However, at the same time, I can’t help but be filled with a sense of joy😊😁. I bet some of you feel the same when thanked for something, it really just makes your day and you fill more positive and all in all in good vibes for the rest of the day🌸✨. So can you imagine how sweet our thanks is to God?

The sweetness of a thank you has the power to change one’s mood and course for the day. How does our thankfulness to God change His mood? does it give Him that sweetness?
As I began to wonder about this, something happened, I was reading my daily bible scripture and surprise surprise it was a passage on praising God.

David’s Song of Thanksgiving
“On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the LORD:
Oh, give thanks to the LORD!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!
Seek the LORD and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!” (1 Chronicles 16:7-11, NKJV)

“For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the LORD made the heavens.
Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and gladness are in His place.” (1 Chronicles 16:25-27, NKJV)

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:34, NKJV)

This caused a smile on my face 😏 I knew God was talking 😊because not only did it show how great God is but it also showed the importance of giving thanks to God. I think it is safe to say that the notion of giving thanks to God is mentioned multiple times in the bible and is a standard practice for a Christian to give thanks to God. But how often do we do this?

Especially now when we are facing such hard times in this pandemic. If you’re like me living in Australia, it went from fires 🔥 and floods 🌊 to a pandemic 😷 , I mean seriously! Who has the time to be thankful right?😰

In times like these, we are more inclined to question God as to why such things are happening🧐🤨. We become very consumed with our current situations 😫 trying to find man-made solutions when the key to our victory is in Him😲.
Would it then not be easier to trust God and give Him thanks through the good and the bad?🤔

Let’s dive a bit into the evidence of thanks (offering/sacrifice) by the Israelites that was a sweet aroma to the Lord.

“And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.” (Genesis 8:21, NKJV)

“I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles.” (Ezekiel 20:41, NKJV)

“and you make an offering by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering or in your appointed feasts, to make a sweet aroma to the LORD, from the herd or the flock,” (Numbers 15:3, NKJV)

In these passages, people were giving thanks to God through their sacrifices and offerings and these were SWEET aromas to God, it pleased Him. And this provoked action from God. Firstly God promised never again to curse the earth. The others swayed God time and time again to forgive and save the Israelites and to keep His promise that He made with Abraham.

Giving thanks is a sweet aroma to God and it causing blessings in many ways.
Now I’m not saying give thanks expecting to get blessing back, no🙅🏾‍♀️, simply just give thanks to God sincerely showing your love towards Him and trust in Him🙏🏾🙌🏾.
These sweet aromas will allow God to work in our lives and continue to bless us even during these times.

I encourage you all today for the next seven days can you give thanks to God, not asking for anything but just recognising Him for who He is and giving thanks.

Okay I know we cannot sacrifice animals, make fires and offer them as they did back in the day but we can offer our thanks to Him through our lips.

“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13:15, NKJV)

Note: To make it easier you can start on Monday or Sunday whenever your week begins and give thanks to God for the whole week.

The Workings Of Power, Love And A Sound Mind

Now that we understand the need to remove fear because it is a spirit not given to us by God… What’s next?!?🤷🏾‍♀️

Well from previous post “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

God has given us some pretty sweet weapons to break fear from our lives.

Power, Love and Sound Mind, this is great and all but to use a weapon you must understand it’s workings, and these are not your physical weapons but spiritual. So, let’s break these down so by the end of this you will be able to understand the workings of all 3 vital weapons to remove fear.

POWER

It first starts with power, we need the power to stand against fear to break it. Without power, we will always bow down to fear which is why this is the first weapon God mentions against fear.

Let’s slow this down for a second. What is this power exactly? This power is the strength given to us by God, not something we have obtained ourselves but have gained through His grace.

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

With this gained strength we have the power to do all things YES! even break fear, but wait there is more

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right God” (Isaiah 41:10)

not only have we been given strength to do all things but God goes on to say I will also be with you with this strength.

LOVE

This leads perfectly into the next weapon which is love, you know the saying “the power of love is stronger than anything”. Now y’all might be thinking this only relates to fairytales and movies but you are sadly mistaken. This phrase is beyond true, for is it not written: “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” (Colossians 3:14) and furthermore “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (1 John 4:8). If love is God Himself, the bond of perfection then you can imagine the edified power on top of God’s strength already given to us to overcome fear.🤯

Let’s dig a bit deeper to make this more interesting “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”(1 John 4:18). Isn’t God amazing, the power in perfect Love itself drives out fear, in other words, the strength we have in love will drive out fear.😲

POWER + PERFECT LOVE (God) = Driving out fear

SOUND MIND

Naturally, a sound mind was a hard one for me to grasp, I asked God what is a sound mind? Then God spoke that your mind is a powerful tool in maintaining the disposal of fear. I sat there like huh! 🤨and God further began to explain. It’s one thing to drive out something it’s another thing to maintain from not giving in to it again. The example of exercising came to mind. When we set the goal to lose weight, get healthier or get into shape. We smash out the first week but then start to give in to temptation in the next week, next thing we know we are back to old habits😩. The same thing when it comes to fear, we can break it from our lives, feel so refreshed. However, don’t go thinking this spirit is going away silently, its going to come back with seven other friends.

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first..” (Matthew 12:43-45).

So it’s critical not to fill our minds with just anything, we need a positive mindset, one filled with the word of God and consistently ready to drive out fear when it appears with the understanding of the tools you have.

I hope you are all fired up and ready to use these weapons 💪🏾💪🏾
