New Year bring on the Joy!

“Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV)

I feel this year is a year God is going to bless each and every one of us in abundance 😊. We shall experience the joy of the Lord which is our strength.

So I don’t know about you but I’m already smiling because I know He is going to bless you. OHH I CAN FEEL THE JOY NOW! Who else?

Y’all I’m so excited up in here, all giddy 😁 nothing but trust in God and smiles this year.

Stay blessed!

Staying In His Will

post 2

Okay, let me be real with you all. It’s HARD! It’s hard at times to know what the right thing to do in certain situations is. I was thinking about it these past weeks, like all the thoughts and plans that I have in my mind are they really the right things to do? Are they what God wants? Then I started worrying that maybe certain paths I’m heading are wrong, not in Gods will. Do you ever get that feeling of panic thinking that you might not be doing what God wants? I feel some of you nodding because it’s true! And you are not alone. The thing is it’s okay to feel like that sometimes, as He says “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” (Isaiah 55:8). So how can we possibly know what God’s will truly is?

As I was pondering on these questions, piece by piece God revealed to me certain things that give us the confidence in knowing that we are doing His will. Truth Time, I was totally putting off writing this post for a while now. It’s been shamefully near two months since my last post. But the Lord was urging me to write this post and I am glad to finally be posting it today. Because there might be one of you sitting there in this very position I was in. I pray that this touches your heart and blesses you as much as it has blessed me.

We Are His Sheep Who Hear His Voice
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)
When you know a person’s voice there is a sense of certainty in you when they speak, like yes this is them without a shadow of a doubt. The same thing applies to God when He speaks you have a sense of certainty that it is Him speaking. The only way to be able to hear the voice of God and to know the voice of God is by first receiving Salvation and then knowing His Word(The Bible). God’s voice will always go in line with what His word says about whatever situation you are facing. So whenever you feel uncertain just go back to The Word of God, pray about it and He will surely answer thee. Now you might be wondering, how do I find out what The Word says about it? Well, Google will now become your BEST FRIEND, trust me. It’s really simple, all you need to do is search what The Bible says about that certain situation on google. All that’s left is for you just take your bible look up the verses and read them, DONE!

He Is Not A God Of Confusion
“For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33).
If you are finding yourself doing something and being so confused, unclear and going about things blindly. I strongly suggest you take a step back. Ask yourself the question, is it really what God wants me to do? For when God speaks there is no confusion in what He has said. Therefore, if it is of the Lord your mind will be clear and free from confusion.

His Ways Are Great
The things that are in God plan will always come to pass, no matter the problems, hardships or obstacles. The things that are not of God will eventually fail and shutter because without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). What God has put together no man can take it apart. “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:3). So do not worry when you start facing some troubles in a situation, it’s all parts of the process. God never promised flowers, rainbows and lollipops in the journey’s we take. However, He did promise that He will deliver us from all our troubles “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.”(Psalm 34:17)

God Is Faithful
God is faithful, He will show you His ways, He will be with you every step of the way. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6). This is His promise to us that He will be with us and not forsake us. When it’s all according to His will and ways, even our enemies cannot stop us. There will be no need to fear anything because we are staying in His will. Stay blessed!

Alone Time With God

opost 1.jpg

Hey, lovely ladies, I am back! A few changes have happened over these past 2 months. All I can say is that I have learnt a few things that I know I must share with you all.

So, Ladies and those gentlemen who have stumbled here WELCOME! I urge you all to feel free in this place, be encouraged in the Lord, communicate and share your opinions.

Today’s topic: Alone time with God.
How is your alone time looking with God?
Strong, medium, weak, non-existent

This is the very question I have been asking myself. I realised it’s easy at first to get motivated to make time for God. For a solid week or so, you will really do the most, prayer, reading the word every day for 1-2 hours. Then just as you’re starting to feel good with the process life decides to get complicated. Now you find yourself struggling to scrap 30min of your time for God. It then slowly turns to barely fitting 5 mins and a short verse in there. Sounds familiar? If so please continue reading.

Why is it so hard for us to commit time to God? Well, it’s something I discovered today as I was writing this. As Humans, it’s easier for us to believe in things we can see “..because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29). Hence making it easier for us to commit to those things. Like with jobs, we can commit to them because we can see the immediate results of them in our bank’s accounts. However, with God, we can’t see Him and the uncertainty of the outcomes with God makes it difficult for us to commit to Him. Even this was evident with the 1st century Israelites’ behaviour. They could see the golden statuses they worshipped but they couldn’t see God this made it easier for them the commit to the others gods such as Baal than God.

This is not the way it should be right? With all God has evidently done in our lives we would assume it to be easier, well no. The Israelites had many wonders performed by God from crossing the red sea, manna provided in the wilderness to enemies handed to them in battle. Still, they turned back from God time and time again.

Commitment really comes down to how much do you love God? Because as far as I’m concerned He loved us so much as unto death (John 3:16). Surely the least we can do to show our love back is by making time to grow and communicate with Him through reading his word and prayer. Just as two people decide to love and commit to one another through marriage that is exactly how we should treat ourselves with God.

Don’t get it twisted I know we are all humans and we make mistakes. Even for myself, I know this is something easier said than done. Well lucky for those who are like me there is a solution. FAITH AND STRENGTH. These are gained by praying to God for the faith and strength to carry on growing with Him one step at a time. Stay blessed!

You don’t need to start with big steps, the little steady steps are the ones that are going to get you there.

So Far From Perfect

Hey ladies, how has everybody’s day been? I’m excited about this week because it has started off on a good note. I was listening to this song “I am” by Kirk Franklin and it really gave me that extra boost I needed for this week.

Before the song came on, I was actually thinking of what an unproductive last week I had. Remembering all the mishaps and disappointing efforts I had made to connect more with God. It was like at that very moment God responded to my negative thoughts with this song. We are so far from perfect. Every day is not always going to be an award winning good day. There are times where it will be dark and still. In these moments we should think of what the Lord has done. How through His saving grace we found a purpose in life. We once thought life had no meaning but then God gave it a meaning.

With God, every day becomes a victorious day because He has fashioned them for you “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them” (Psalms 139:16). He wouldn’t put more on you than you can bear “but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,” (1 Corinthians 10:13). And GIRL! don’t get it twisted, there will be times where you will surely fall. But that’s when the grace of God will be upon you and He will “MAKE ALL THINGS NEW”.

So, if you’re in the same position of thinking about all the negativity in your life, what you have and have not achieved. GURL, STOP! for your sake and His. Trust in the Lord, He will make you a winner. Stay blessed!

Rooted In The Truth

post17

Rooted in the truth/in Christ, how do we get there? How does one become rooted?. These questions were running through my mind these past few weeks. And God showed an answer. It’s very simple yet comes with complications. Being rooted in Christ is when you know the word of God and having the ability to obey His commandments without compromising. Doing what the Lord says and building a personal relationship with Him. However ladies, don’t get it twisted, this is easier said than done.

One thing we must understand is that when we decide to become rooted it is not an overnight transformation. It is a long-term process, and it differs for everybody. I know sometimes we want to speed the process and get to where God wants us to be fast, becoming impatient. But we need to understand the best time is God’s time “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven”(Ecclesiastes 3:1). This process will be full of conflict, challenges, and spiritual warfare.

Even Jesus in the Gospel of Luke expressed how following him would cause conflict within families, “Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” (Luke 12:53). For some, there will be battles for Christ with their parents. Nevertheless, with conflict comes courage, to stand for what you believe in. To stand for the truth. To stand for Christ.

When Rooted In Christ there comes challenges. This world will bring forth many ideas that go against the word of God. We sometimes become afraid to stand up for Christ. Especially young people, we start to become ashamed of who we are. But it says in the word ” For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). We cannot be ashamed because we do not seek validation from this world but we seek it from God. Furthermore, commitment, we must be committed to change, to letting go of past behaviours and giving our all to God.

Lastly, we enter a spiritual warfare. We have one enemy and that enemy is the devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). We need to understand that he will try and persuade us to go astray but we must remain grounded in the things of Christ and resist temptations. Like Jesus resist temptations by the devil himself in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-13). Jesus also set an example of how we can also resist the devil’s temptations, through the word of God. Stay blessed!

Stay Rooted in the Truth

Be Strong And Of Good Courage

post15

Scenario: You are with your friends and you are a very strong Christian and they are not so much. You begin to discuss the bible and they starting speaking of how it’s fake and not real. What would you do? What would you say? It’s easy right now to say yea I would totally speak up and defend the word of God. Educate them about the importance of the Bible, and how it is inspired by God and since God words are the truth “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”(John 17:17) then the Bible is true. Well, this might be the case for some but for others, easier said than done.

When alone you imagine you can and might convince yourself this is what you would do. However, when it becomes a reality you can completely switch up and find yourself afraid and silent. In a society where we desire to belong it can be hard to defend what we believe in. We become so afraid as Christian to talk about Christ, to spread the good news. We become so afraid of the outcome, what will they think of me? We become afraid of rejection, what if they walk away from me? We are afraid of not belonging.

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”(Deuteronomy 31:6). We are sent as children of God to go and minister the word and bring souls to Christ. Nevertheless, Nobody said it was going to be easy, It comes with fear and weakness. That’s why we need strength and courage from God to get us through. Knowing that as His children He will never leave us nor forsake us, we should not fear anything. “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”(Joshua 17:15-16). We should understand that we do not belong to the world anymore but we belong to Christ, who is not of the world. This gives us the good courage to minister to others, the God-given courage to do what He has sent us to do “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”(Mark 15:16). SISTERS! BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE. Stay blessed!

Hey Ladies, I dearly apologise for not posting yesterday, had some internet problems, but no matter here I am today. Slow Down, Make Time For God

post14.jpg

Have you come to that time of year where the struggle is truly real? Things are starting to pile up and you are just getting lazier and lazier? Well, welcome to the club! Honestly, for these past 2 weeks, I have been a complete mess (yes laugh with me, because I know some of you feel the same).

To make matter worse the demands of so many things in life such as money (haha I know we all struggle with that one), education, study, socialising etc. It can be draining on a woman. I mean come on! can’t a girl get a beauty rest for a second? Anywho enough of that, this can also cause a decrease in the amount of time we spend with God. We can become so busy at times we forget to just sit down and meditate on God’s word “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night”(Psalm 1:2). Okay, let’s be real for a moment who else at times feels so tired that when it gets to that time with God, you end up making a short prayer, reading a quick verse and giving yourself a pat well done on the back. Don’t get me wrong that’s still a great effort, better that than nothing. However, it’s also essential to really sit down, read the word, understand it and just let it manifest in your everyday life.

I know easier said than done. This is why I also have a few suggestions, to make sure you are keeping in touch with God.

1. Plan a bible study with someone. It can be once a week or as many times as you wish where you meet up and just enjoy the presence of the lord. This can be very effective if you plan with someone who is as committed as yourself. Someone you know and trust. It will surely make it more enjoyable sharing ideas and getting closer to God.
2. As I have said before in a past post, always pray before and after you read the bible. This will get you into the spirit and prepare you for whatever God has to reveal through the chapter/verse.
3. After bible Study or alone reading, always make sure before you go to bed to meditate upon what you have read. Take the time to fully understand the word and thank God for it.
4. Lastly, whenever you are in a moment of peace and silence just take the time to appreciate God. Even after managing to get that morning coffee before work. THANK GOD! Little appreciations like that also matter to God. Stay blessed!

So just a little reminder for all you lovely ladies and myself. Slow down and make time for God, it’s important to Him and you as well, it will build your relationship.

The Shepherd

post13.jpg

Hey, lovely ladies, I hope you are all having a blessed week. This week I decided to just share a chapter from the bible that has been touching me so far this week and that’s Psalm 23

Although it is short and simple, it is one of the most power chapters in the bible. This is my go to verse when I feel fear, stress, doubt and even when I’m down. He is our shepherd, He will guide us and bring peace in our lives. He is our protector, no need to fear the terrors of the night nor the arrows that fly by day (Psalm 91:5). He will mount us with blessings upon blessings. Stay blessed!

The Lord the Shepherd of His People
A Psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the Lord
Forever.”(Psalm 23)

Comparisons That Lead To Destruction

post12

Hey, lovelies this week is going to be a little different, I have Chidi with me and she will be posting on Thursday. We also have a theme this week which is comparisons and we will be sharing our different takes on the topic.

I’m going to be focusing on the comparisons made by some Christians towards non-Christians and also the comparisons that occur between different churches.

God tells us to love thy neighbour, but do we really? Do you find yourself quick to judge once you know someone is not a Christian?

As Christians we are made to follow the footsteps of Christ, however, sometimes we can forget that we are not perfect. We are not above or below people, we were all made equal no matter our title “Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.” (John 13:16). I have seen it in some Churches and Christians where they perceive themselves higher than those who are not Christian. kind of treating them the way the Jewish people treated the gentiles like outcasts in Ancient Palestine. Thinking they were not holy enough to be near, quick to judge a gentile than another Jew. That behaviour of thinking is not right, we cannot compare ourselves higher than a non-Christian and favour a Christian. We may never know what is happening behind closed doors, the Christian might be a bigger sinner than the non-Christian, the only difference is one knows Christ and the other is waiting to know of Christ. Instead of Christians comparing themselves to non-Christians, we should be winning their souls, seeing them for who they can become in Christ not who they are without.

Another matter is churches competing with other churches, one believing to better than the other. This happens often, where competitions and comparisons arise between churches and they find themselves losing their main focus and doing things to be better than the other. We should know as Christians we are ALL in Christ, we ALL love and believe in the same Jesus and we ALL have a common goal to win souls to him as his disciples. However, it’s sad when you see comparisons lead to a destruction of churches and also lead to pride in some.

God made us all equal in him, its just some are waiting to be revealed of that. Instead of being like the Pharisees in the bible questioning Jesus as he feasted with the sinners, let us be like Jesus and also call sinners to repentance (Mark 2:13-17). Let’s put all negative comparisons aside and see the gem that God sees in everyone and helping them to reach it by receiving Christ. We should aim to bless people with the good news not to put down people with the fact that we have learnt the good news. Stay blessed!

The good that God sees in you, you should see in others.
