Hey, lovely ladies, I hope your week was good, and your weekend is going great! Remember to make time for God as well this weekend 🙂
Here is a poem I made just talking about my journey with the Lord. Getting to know God is a difficult journey but He is faithful and has been with me during it all “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9). This poem just highlights that the past was the past and now I’m in the present. I’m now living a life that is dependent on God as my Lord, “Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great” (Psalms 104:1). By this has given me the desire to share with others of his goodness and saving Grace. Stay Blessed!
Beforehand By Anashe Munene (Aka Stylishly Inspired)
Beforehand I would have gone about my day without you, would have gone without recognising your presence, would not have acknowledged your existence.
Beforehand I would have sort for any other, I would have chosen any other, I would have begged for any other.
Beforehand was a different time, we didn’t really know each other, we didn’t connect or talk. If you spoke I wouldn’t have been able to recognise your voice.
Now times are different, I can’t go a day without you, I need your presence, your existence is the reason I live. I sort you, found you, chose you and now would give up others for you.
Now we know each other all too well, you know me more than any other. Your voice is a voice I have grown to fully depend on.
Now I cry out ABBA FATHER for beforehand I didn’t know your name, now I know your name. THE LORD MY GOD who has taken me this far from BEFOREHAND to NOW.
Hey hey hey I’m back ladies! Greetings to all those who have stumbled upon this page, be encouraged in the Lord😊 and feel free to let me know how your week/day/year has been.
Today’s topic: proving yourself to God and not man
Firstly, come with me on a journey.
I was a young girl, the church was telling me one thing and the world was telling me another. At that time picking the choice that got the most affirmation from people was easy and a given. However, the days grew, it became more difficult because now the recipe for being liked had changed. To be liked, one now had to deny themselves in Christ. Covering up my love for Christ because I feared judgment and loneliness and desired to belong. The days aged and here I am a young lady, things are worse. You see more, you have to make more decisions and you have to at the same time discover who you are. But now I have decided not to prove myself to the world anymore, I have decided to prove myself to God.
Be very careful to not discover the you that is molded by others. This is an easy mistake we can make, people’s influence is very strong in our lives from family to culture to friends. It’s easy to form an identity based on how they see us or how society wants to see us. We can become so consumed with having their approval that we become fully convinced that this is who we must be. To feel a sense of belonging.
When Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,[a] and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)
He meant deny our worldly self. The one formed by people’s expectations of us. And if we seek to prove ourselves to Him we have to carry up HIS expectations of us, HIS will for us daily and follow Him.
Jesus’ disciples denied themselves (Matthew 4:18-22). In those days honour was a valued thing and keeping the occupation of your fathers was a way of keeping honour in the society. When they left their fishing nets and followed Christ, they denied what the community/society expected them to be. We must be like the disciples of Christ, denying ourselves and following Jesus. This is how we will truly prove ourselves not to man but to God, the Almighty Father. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,”[a] says the Lord,[b] “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)
Don’t get me wrong this is no fairytale, it’s not a walk in the park. It’s going to be challenging. Nobody said being a Christian was easy, nobody said being unashamed of the Gospel of Christ (John: 1:16) was a breeze. But the Lord did promise that He is our strength and shield (Psalms 28:7) and He will help us to carry through. Stay blessed!
Hey lovelies ladies, how are you feeling on this day that the Lord has made? Over this side in Melbourne, it is absolutely boiling. Forreal, it’s like I’m sitting in an oven all day, who’s in the same situation?
Topic: The Dress code as Ambassadors of Christ
Okay, this is not going to be a post about don’t wear this, Don’t wear that, DON’T, DON’T, DON’T! Eh nope. This dress code is a spiritual dress code, the dress code of our inner man “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16)
Okay, so now you are thinking OH NO! Do I need to flip like 10 chapters and memorize 50 verses in the bible? Again no, so relax. This dress code can be found in 1 simple place. Colossians 3:12-17, Yes! in just 1 chapter and 5 verses, Hallelujah right!. This dress code comes when we ourselves as Christians are made new creatures being born again. If you are not born again that is alright, the good thing about God’s saving grace is that anybody can be born again. If you want to do so check out my blog post “The way of Salvation” or just email me through the contact page.
Colossians 3:12-17 “12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Now isn’t it weird how it say’s “put on” in this passage instead of having? Yes, these characteristics are ones we can’t just learn but need God to grant unto us. The reason we must put these on is so that they can become part of our inner man. Just as we put on normal clothes on our flesh, they become part of us, right? representing who we are, yes?. Exactly the same concept with the inner man, it needs clothes too. We are advised by God to put on these characteristics so that we may represent ourselves in the right manner as ambassadors of Christ. Just as the saying your clothes can reflect your personality more to others, so does the right clothing on our inner man reflect more of who we are in Christ.
So, where ever you go put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, and longsuffering. But above all put on LOVE, for it was through God’s love that we are saved, it is through His love that we are alive today. So that where ever we go people will know that Christ is with us. When we put on these characteristics in our everyday lives we benefit more, for our flesh is not the one that will be judged on judgment day but our inner man.
Even when we commit sins because we are still human, let that not take away this apparel. We must always have it on. Jesus understands our temptations and that is why we are given mercy, but our spiritual apparel must never be taken off. Not for our sake but for His sake as His ambassadors. Stay blessed!
Above all put on Love, let love not be taken away from your spiritual apparel 🙂
Hey ladies, how has everybody’s day been? I’m excited about this week because it has started off on a good note. I was listening to this song “I am” by Kirk Franklin and it really gave me that extra boost I needed for this week.
Before the song came on, I was actually thinking of what an unproductive last week I had. Remembering all the mishaps and disappointing efforts I had made to connect more with God. It was like at that very moment God responded to my negative thoughts with this song. We are so far from perfect. Every day is not always going to be an award winning good day. There are times where it will be dark and still. In these moments we should think of what the Lord has done. How through His saving grace we found a purpose in life. We once thought life had no meaning but then God gave it a meaning.
With God, every day becomes a victorious day because He has fashioned them for you “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them” (Psalms 139:16). He wouldn’t put more on you than you can bear “but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,” (1 Corinthians 10:13). And GIRL! don’t get it twisted, there will be times where you will surely fall. But that’s when the grace of God will be upon you and He will “MAKE ALL THINGS NEW”.
So, if you’re in the same position of thinking about all the negativity in your life, what you have and have not achieved. GURL, STOP! for your sake and His. Trust in the Lord, He will make you a winner. Stay blessed!
“I am, so far from perfect, I thought life was worthless until you showed me who I am”- I am by Kirk Franklin
Firstly, just want to thank you all for viewing and supporting this blog. I hope what I write blesses someone out there. I want to continue to communicate with you ladies and just get to know all of you. So, do not fear to comment or go on my contacts page and send me a message. Also, many thanks to all the lovely women who have written posts for this blog and may God continue to bless each and every one of you.
You might be wondering, how odd, she’s starting with acknowledgements. Well, you bet I am. Last week was Thanksgiving at my church. It got me thinking and thanking God for everyone He has put in my path to build this blog and those of you who view it, many thanks to you all. Most importantly thanks be unto God for all He has done for me.
You know, we get so caught up in this mess we call life that we sometimes forget the reason we are living right now, it’s not that of luck but by the grace of God, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). We don’t realise how much we actually depend on God. So fixed on our problems and struggles that our prayers end up consisting of demands, pleads and sorrow. when it should actually be filled more with Thanksgiving, glorification and rejoicing.
See when you give thanks to God instead of demanding from him, it allows God to work more in your life. Like the philosophy looking at the glass as half full rather than half empty. Thank God for the half full things in your life and watch Him fill the rest of the cup with blessings until it over flows. God loves to be appreciated. When we appreciate it excites God, easily allowing Him to do His work in our lives.
Okay, probably at this point, you are thinking what is she talking about? Listen, GIRL! trust me, I’m a living testimony of this. Thanking and praising God does more in your life. But wait! there’s more! not only will you be blessed, you will also build your spiritual self and connection with God. With that, you start to build a stronger dependence and trust on God. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7)
Understanding the equation now? With thanks comes connection, which builds a trust, that leads to blessings. Be encouraged ladies give thanks to God even in times of darkness. “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). Stay blessed!
A little thank you unto God can go a long way in opening your doors.
