New Year bring on the Joy!

“Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV)

New Beginnings

May I have your attention, please!
Welcome to the new Stylishly Inspired🎉

I recently took some time off to take a step back and think about what Stylishly Inspired is all about and what I wanted people to gain from it.

I’m happy to be back again and not only that I have some exciting new changes coming soon as well 😀

I’m going to start off by just stating what Stylishly Inspired is all about. This is a platform where women and girls can interact with one another and build each other up spiritually, mentally and physically. I like to see it as a growth journey where women of God link arms and support each other through it.

Today I was reading 1 John 2:9-10 and it really captured what this blog is all about. “He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him”. In order to succeed in our journey with Christ, we must love one another and walk in the light. What I want to see is that sisterly love among us and to walk in the light of Christ together.

The question is will YOU Join me?

If so WONDERFUL!

This requires a few things:

  1. Join the community, be part of the journey with us.
You can join either by email or any other social media platform which I will place below. This will make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun😄
  2. Interact, don’t be afraid. I created this blog so that people can be more engaged and learn from one another. So leave comments, LOTS OF THEM! Share with family members, friends, co-workers, people you know, we want to make this community to grow BIG, so get them involved as well.
  3. TALK TO ME! even straight after you join don’t be afraid to hit me up. I like to keep it real so I don’t respond with automated messages. Just shoot me a message on any media platform, would love to get to know you.

So, ladies, I’m excited for the next month and new year ahead.

Stay blessed ladies.

A Fighting Spirit

post-1.jpg

Stylishly Inspired family it’s been a minute!
I hope everyone is doing well and may the grace and love of God be upon each and every one of you.

Okay! I know you are wondering where I have disappeared to for the past months. I actually have been working on myself and my relationship with God. So, as God forgives, forgive me also for being so absent. But best believe I am going to be posting regularly from now on and I hope someone will get blessed from the posts to come.

Let’s jump straight in!

Have you ever had those moments where no matter how much you try and work hard things just don’t seem to work out? Well, this is the exact position I was in, feeling like no matter what I did, I just kept failing. If I’m being honest, I felt like if this was my course in life then what was the point of trying and moving forward. So I started living life with the mindset that there was no point in trying my hardest if I was just going to end up failing. With that being said, allow me to please encourage someone today if you are in this very position.

To win in life you’ve got to FIGHT! Yes, nothing comes easy or work free, you have to fight.

1. You have to FIGHT yourself
This was one concept I struggled with and still am. Knowing myself and the person I am, it was difficult to confront myself. You can either hate the person you see in the mirror or love them. I hated the person I saw, and I didn’t want to see her, I didn’t want to confront her. So, I dug my feeling up in a big hole and continued on with my life. NOT the best idea. TRUST ME! “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2). Even God warned us that every day we need to FIGHT ourselves and our minds. Negativity formulated from your own mind will always bring you down, you need to learn to overcome that negativity. Personal development is the key to winning all battles. “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;” (1 Peter 1:18)

2. You have to FIGHT the world
No doubt there is a lot of negativity in this world and people will try and pull you down from all corners. Telling you, you can’t do this and you can’t do that, you are doing this wrong and you should quit now. Let me tell you, even God said not to worry about those people “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25). Just trust in him and believe that God will get you through “Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.” (Psalms 40:4). He will deliver you from all your troubles (Psalms 50:5).

3. You have to FIGHT spiritually
Yes, you have spiritual battles to fight as well. Don’t think the devil is out here happy that you’re happy. You have to fight spiritual battles and you have to stand your ground. Thankfully God gave us his armour to fight and prevail with (Ephesians 6:14-20) and he also has promised never to leave nor forsake us. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Remember in the time of battle you are never alone, God will always be at your right hand seeing you through.

Lastly, Fight the good fight of faith! (1 Timothy 6:12), Pull yourself up and decide today not to be in the position you are in. Build up courage, build up a fighting spirit and FIGHT!

I hope that all of you from now on FIGHT and win your battles until we meet again, Stay blessed warriors of Christ!

Staying In His Will

post 2

Okay, let me be real with you all. It’s HARD! It’s hard at times to know what the right thing to do in certain situations is. I was thinking about it these past weeks, like all the thoughts and plans that I have in my mind are they really the right things to do? Are they what God wants? Then I started worrying that maybe certain paths I’m heading are wrong, not in Gods will. Do you ever get that feeling of panic thinking that you might not be doing what God wants? I feel some of you nodding because it’s true! And you are not alone. The thing is it’s okay to feel like that sometimes, as He says “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” (Isaiah 55:8). So how can we possibly know what God’s will truly is?

As I was pondering on these questions, piece by piece God revealed to me certain things that give us the confidence in knowing that we are doing His will. Truth Time, I was totally putting off writing this post for a while now. It’s been shamefully near two months since my last post. But the Lord was urging me to write this post and I am glad to finally be posting it today. Because there might be one of you sitting there in this very position I was in. I pray that this touches your heart and blesses you as much as it has blessed me.

We Are His Sheep Who Hear His Voice
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)
When you know a person’s voice there is a sense of certainty in you when they speak, like yes this is them without a shadow of a doubt. The same thing applies to God when He speaks you have a sense of certainty that it is Him speaking. The only way to be able to hear the voice of God and to know the voice of God is by first receiving Salvation and then knowing His Word(The Bible). God’s voice will always go in line with what His word says about whatever situation you are facing. So whenever you feel uncertain just go back to The Word of God, pray about it and He will surely answer thee. Now you might be wondering, how do I find out what The Word says about it? Well, Google will now become your BEST FRIEND, trust me. It’s really simple, all you need to do is search what The Bible says about that certain situation on google. All that’s left is for you just take your bible look up the verses and read them, DONE!

He Is Not A God Of Confusion
“For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33).
If you are finding yourself doing something and being so confused, unclear and going about things blindly. I strongly suggest you take a step back. Ask yourself the question, is it really what God wants me to do? For when God speaks there is no confusion in what He has said. Therefore, if it is of the Lord your mind will be clear and free from confusion.

His Ways Are Great
The things that are in God plan will always come to pass, no matter the problems, hardships or obstacles. The things that are not of God will eventually fail and shutter because without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). What God has put together no man can take it apart. “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:3). So do not worry when you start facing some troubles in a situation, it’s all parts of the process. God never promised flowers, rainbows and lollipops in the journey’s we take. However, He did promise that He will deliver us from all our troubles “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.”(Psalm 34:17)

God Is Faithful
God is faithful, He will show you His ways, He will be with you every step of the way. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6). This is His promise to us that He will be with us and not forsake us. When it’s all according to His will and ways, even our enemies cannot stop us. There will be no need to fear anything because we are staying in His will. Stay blessed!

Beforehand…

opost4

Hey, lovely ladies, I hope your week was good, and your weekend is going great! Remember to make time for God as well this weekend 🙂

Here is a poem I made just talking about my journey with the Lord. Getting to know God is a difficult journey but He is faithful and has been with me during it all “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9). This poem just highlights that the past was the past and now I’m in the present. I’m now living a life that is dependent on God as my Lord, “Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great” (Psalms 104:1). By this has given me the desire to share with others of his goodness and saving Grace. Stay Blessed!

Beforehand
By Anashe Munene (Aka Stylishly Inspired)

Beforehand I would have gone about my day without you, would have gone without recognising your presence, would not have acknowledged your existence.

Beforehand I would have sort for any other, I would have chosen any other, I would have begged for any other.

Beforehand was a different time, we didn’t really know each other, we didn’t connect or talk. If you spoke I wouldn’t have been able to recognise your voice.

Now times are different, I can’t go a day without you, I need your presence, your existence is the reason I live. I sort you, found you, chose you and now would give up others for you.

Now we know each other all too well, you know me more than any other. Your voice is a voice I have grown to fully depend on.

Now I cry out ABBA FATHER for beforehand I didn’t know your name, now I know your name. THE LORD MY GOD who has taken me this far from BEFOREHAND to NOW.

Have You Proven Yourself?

opost 3

Hey hey hey I’m back ladies! Greetings to all those who have stumbled upon this page, be encouraged in the Lord😊 and feel free to let me know how your week/day/year has been.

Today’s topic: proving yourself to God and not man

Firstly, come with me on a journey.
I was a young girl, the church was telling me one thing and the world was telling me another. At that time picking the choice that got the most affirmation from people was easy and a given. However, the days grew, it became more difficult because now the recipe for being liked had changed. To be liked, one now had to deny themselves in Christ. Covering up my love for Christ because I feared judgment and loneliness and desired to belong. The days aged and here I am a young lady, things are worse. You see more, you have to make more decisions and you have to at the same time discover who you are. But now I have decided not to prove myself to the world anymore, I have decided to prove myself to God.

Be very careful to not discover the you that is molded by others. This is an easy mistake we can make, people’s influence is very strong in our lives from family to culture to friends. It’s easy to form an identity based on how they see us or how society wants to see us. We can become so consumed with having their approval that we become fully convinced that this is who we must be. To feel a sense of belonging.

When Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,[a] and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)
He meant deny our worldly self. The one formed by people’s expectations of us. And if we seek to prove ourselves to Him we have to carry up HIS expectations of us, HIS will for us daily and follow Him.

Jesus’ disciples denied themselves (Matthew 4:18-22). In those days honour was a valued thing and keeping the occupation of your fathers was a way of keeping honour in the society. When they left their fishing nets and followed Christ, they denied what the community/society expected them to be. We must be like the disciples of Christ, denying ourselves and following Jesus. This is how we will truly prove ourselves not to man but to God, the Almighty Father. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,”[a] says the Lord,[b] “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)

Don’t get me wrong this is no fairytale, it’s not a walk in the park. It’s going to be challenging. Nobody said being a Christian was easy, nobody said being unashamed of the Gospel of Christ (John: 1:16) was a breeze. But the Lord did promise that He is our strength and shield (Psalms 28:7) and He will help us to carry through. Stay blessed!

Be Bold, Strong and of Good Courage Sisters!

Dress Code As Ambassadors

dresscode

Hey lovelies ladies, how are you feeling on this day that the Lord has made? Over this side in Melbourne, it is absolutely boiling. Forreal, it’s like I’m sitting in an oven all day, who’s in the same situation?

Topic: The Dress code as Ambassadors of Christ

Okay, this is not going to be a post about don’t wear this, Don’t wear that, DON’T, DON’T, DON’T! Eh nope. This dress code is a spiritual dress code, the dress code of our inner man “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16)

Okay, so now you are thinking OH NO! Do I need to flip like 10 chapters and memorize 50 verses in the bible? Again no, so relax. This dress code can be found in 1 simple place. Colossians 3:12-17, Yes! in just 1 chapter and 5 verses, Hallelujah right!. This dress code comes when we ourselves as Christians are made new creatures being born again. If you are not born again that is alright, the good thing about God’s saving grace is that anybody can be born again. If you want to do so check out my blog post “The way of Salvation” or just email me through the contact page.

Colossians 3:12-17
“12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Now isn’t it weird how it say’s “put on” in this passage instead of having? Yes, these characteristics are ones we can’t just learn but need God to grant unto us. The reason we must put these on is so that they can become part of our inner man. Just as we put on normal clothes on our flesh, they become part of us, right? representing who we are, yes?. Exactly the same concept with the inner man, it needs clothes too. We are advised by God to put on these characteristics so that we may represent ourselves in the right manner as ambassadors of Christ. Just as the saying your clothes can reflect your personality more to others, so does the right clothing on our inner man reflect more of who we are in Christ.

So, where ever you go put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, and longsuffering. But above all put on LOVE, for it was through God’s love that we are saved, it is through His love that we are alive today. So that where ever we go people will know that Christ is with us. When we put on these characteristics in our everyday lives we benefit more, for our flesh is not the one that will be judged on judgment day but our inner man.

Even when we commit sins because we are still human, let that not take away this apparel. We must always have it on. Jesus understands our temptations and that is why we are given mercy, but our spiritual apparel must never be taken off. Not for our sake but for His sake as His ambassadors. Stay blessed!

Above all put on Love, let love not be taken away from your spiritual apparel 🙂

A Prayer For My Sisters

opost 3.jpg

I just felt in my heart that I should do a short prayer for you ladies.

A Prayer for my sisters
Oh Lord,
I want to thank you for each and every person that sees this post today,
Lord, I want to thank you, because you are the one who has given them another day to live and another breath to breath.

Lord, I ask today that you may strengthen them through this week,
Show them the paths that you want them to take,
For you are our help, you cause our foot not to be moved (Psalms 121:2-3),
Hear the cries of your children Lord as they present their cases to you,
Take up their burdens and sustain your children (Psalms 55:22).

Lord of mercy, forgive them if they have done wrong in your sight,
And let them have a forgiving heart for those who have wrong them,
Let there be peace in their lives,
Grant to them the desires of their hearts Lord.

Bless your children this day and in this hour,
In Jesus’ name,
AMEN

Stay Blessed Sisters!

The Size Doesn’t Matter, The Heart Does

opost 2

Hey ladies, how have you been? How is the week going so far? If hectic, don’t worry because same! But the God we love and serve is our strength “I will love You, O Lord, my strength.”(Psalms 18:1) So keep having strength sisters.

Today’s topic: The size of a Church compared to the hearts of the Church

Okay, What I have discovered is that no matter the size of the Church, God looks for one thing and is present for that one thing that is a right heart. That is why God doesn’t worry about size “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20). Those who are gathered for Him shall feel his presence. So, what is this right heart? The right heart is a heart that has gathered to worship the Lord in SPIRIT and in TRUTH “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24)

Nowadays, we have to be careful about big flashy congregations, though they may attract us, the presence of God might not be there. Fame, power, whatever their intentions may be might hinder the presence of the Lord from entering because their hearts and spirits are not in the right place. The service then turns into a concert, just an entertainment to please people NOT GOD.

Don’t get me wrong ladies, I’m not rebuking all big churches because some do have the right heart. I’m just saying open your minds and eyes, don’t be blinded to the intentions of Churches. Look around, be alert, ask yourself are they here for God or man? look at your own intentions, why are you at that church? Are you there for God, for people or for the entertainment?

This is an area many Christians fail in and end up being lead astray. A really good way to help you be sure is to KNOW THE WORD. When you know the word of God you can never be lead astray. Whether you like it or not there are false prophets and not everyone who preaches to you will be giving you the truth “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”(Matthew 7:15). This is why you should know the word for yourself so that you can judge and gain the real truth.

Next time you go to church don’t be amazed by the quantity of it or the talent, however, be amazed by the presence of God in a church. For God does not look at the size, He looks for those true worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Stay blessed!

It’s not about the size, it’s about the heart.

Alone Time With God

opost 1.jpg

Hey, lovely ladies, I am back! A few changes have happened over these past 2 months. All I can say is that I have learnt a few things that I know I must share with you all.

So, Ladies and those gentlemen who have stumbled here WELCOME! I urge you all to feel free in this place, be encouraged in the Lord, communicate and share your opinions.

Today’s topic: Alone time with God.
How is your alone time looking with God?
Strong, medium, weak, non-existent

This is the very question I have been asking myself. I realised it’s easy at first to get motivated to make time for God. For a solid week or so, you will really do the most, prayer, reading the word every day for 1-2 hours. Then just as you’re starting to feel good with the process life decides to get complicated. Now you find yourself struggling to scrap 30min of your time for God. It then slowly turns to barely fitting 5 mins and a short verse in there. Sounds familiar? If so please continue reading.

Why is it so hard for us to commit time to God? Well, it’s something I discovered today as I was writing this. As Humans, it’s easier for us to believe in things we can see “..because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29). Hence making it easier for us to commit to those things. Like with jobs, we can commit to them because we can see the immediate results of them in our bank’s accounts. However, with God, we can’t see Him and the uncertainty of the outcomes with God makes it difficult for us to commit to Him. Even this was evident with the 1st century Israelites’ behaviour. They could see the golden statuses they worshipped but they couldn’t see God this made it easier for them the commit to the others gods such as Baal than God.

This is not the way it should be right? With all God has evidently done in our lives we would assume it to be easier, well no. The Israelites had many wonders performed by God from crossing the red sea, manna provided in the wilderness to enemies handed to them in battle. Still, they turned back from God time and time again.

Commitment really comes down to how much do you love God? Because as far as I’m concerned He loved us so much as unto death (John 3:16). Surely the least we can do to show our love back is by making time to grow and communicate with Him through reading his word and prayer. Just as two people decide to love and commit to one another through marriage that is exactly how we should treat ourselves with God.

Don’t get it twisted I know we are all humans and we make mistakes. Even for myself, I know this is something easier said than done. Well lucky for those who are like me there is a solution. FAITH AND STRENGTH. These are gained by praying to God for the faith and strength to carry on growing with Him one step at a time. Stay blessed!

You don’t need to start with big steps, the little steady steps are the ones that are going to get you there.
