A Thank you Not A demand

Firstly, just want to thank you all for viewing and supporting this blog. I hope what I write blesses someone out there. I want to continue to communicate with you ladies and just get to know all of you. So, do not fear to comment or go on my contacts page and send me a message. Also, many thanks to all the lovely women who have written posts for this blog and may God continue to bless each and every one of you.

You might be wondering, how odd, she’s starting with acknowledgements. Well, you bet I am. Last week was Thanksgiving at my church. It got me thinking and thanking God for everyone He has put in my path to build this blog and those of you who view it, many thanks to you all. Most importantly thanks be unto God for all He has done for me.

You know, we get so caught up in this mess we call life that we sometimes forget the reason we are living right now, it’s not that of luck but by the grace of God, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). We don’t realise how much we actually depend on God. So fixed on our problems and struggles that our prayers end up consisting of demands, pleads and sorrow. when it should actually be filled more with Thanksgiving, glorification and rejoicing.

See when you give thanks to God instead of demanding from him, it allows God to work more in your life. Like the philosophy looking at the glass as half full rather than half empty. Thank God for the half full things in your life and watch Him fill the rest of the cup with blessings until it over flows. God loves to be appreciated. When we appreciate it excites God, easily allowing Him to do His work in our lives.

Okay, probably at this point, you are thinking what is she talking about? Listen, GIRL! trust me, I’m a living testimony of this. Thanking and praising God does more in your life. But wait! there’s more! not only will you be blessed, you will also build your spiritual self and connection with God. With that, you start to build a stronger dependence and trust on God. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

Understanding the equation now? With thanks comes connection, which builds a trust, that leads to blessings. Be encouraged ladies give thanks to God even in times of darkness. “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). Stay blessed!

A little thank you unto God can go a long way in opening your doors.

Absence

Absence

by Sieara DeLone

Absence.

As I walk down the street, I feel the absence.

The absence of needed souls.

They walk among us.

We’ve known them all

& it doesn’t really hit you until it hits YOU.

Presence.

Please present me with the present of presence.

Souls, all here to make a difference,

Make a change,

Make the world a better place,

Fill the w–

Fill.

But how can we fill through the absence?

Why do we kill through the nonsense?

Why sit still instead of conference?

Is it real? This is nonsense.

Because we are the epitome of our own issues.

All of our issues can be fixed by us fighting for a change & making a change,

But we drown in self-pity,

Wallow in depression,

Sink into death.

And  in this day & age we are victimizing ourselves.

And in this day & age we are victimizing ourselves.

AND IN THIS DAY AND AGE WE ARE VICTIMIZING OURSELVES.

We let others negatively impact our lives.

We let the opinions of others force us into the mindset of being stuck where we are.

We let ourselves forget about faith, consistency, and hard work.

We let successful imaging make us think the road is easy.

Thusforth forcing us into a mindset of a spoiled rich child being handed the world on a silver platter.

So while we are constantly blaming others, think again…

We let….

WE….

So if WE are to blame anyone,

Blame yourself for where you are

& thinking you’ll get anywhere else doing the exact same thing.

I dare you to look in the mirror & blame yourselves.

So are you past it?

Are you ready to take responsibility for your own life: career-wise, emotion-wise, etc.?

Good.

Because I dare you.

I dare you, if not satisfied with your money situation,

to stop whining about it, get off your butt, and WORK HARDER.

I dare you

If feeling alone,

to find a parent, or a friend, or a completely new person.

Find someone to trust.

Ventilate.

Confide in someone.

But that’s the easy part.

I dare you

To kill those thoughts of depression, and oppression, and recession, and death.

Replace it with the belief in a God more powerful than all that.

Replace it with faith.

Yes, sometimes you walk alone,

but God didn’t bring you this far to leave you

Don’t let the devil deceive you

Stop caring how people perceive you,

and learn how to stand up and be you.

I dare you to take the gun away from your head

I dare you not to take the easy way out

I dare you to draw up the courage

I dare you to live

I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU

And even if you don’t feel you have the strength to stand,

IT’S OKAY TO CRAWL FIRST.

Just live.

Live life to the fullest through its low points so you have an amazing story to tell at the end.

Don’t let your story be one of tragedy.

Don’t place the end at the middle.

Just live, live, and LIVE NOW,

because I refuse to live in a generation of absence.

And if these words are too harsh for you, let this come through.
When life is tough and you feel no one cares, baby I do.

And we all understand your pain, cause, hey, I’ve been through

And before you think of letting go, just know I love you

And babe, don’t turn ya back on God he’ll always come through

And the devil ain’t that powerful, don’t let him front you

Cause all this mess you going through, it’s almost done too.

I know that times is hard. You feel like planes are crashing.

But the world still needs your soul. We still need your passion.

This is just a thought to console you, while the time is passing.

Cause I know you going through, and you done thought of passing.

But this is what I do, and yeah I’m taking action.

Cause I’d hate to live in a world without you, and live in a world of absence.

Unveiling The Gem

Hello lovely ladies, I attended a Precious Stones convention for the past 4 days, which was about unveiling a gem in every single woman. It was an amazing experience and so uplifting. We must all become women of excellence, true beauty, wealth, fear of the lord, strength and honour, wisdom and Good works. All mentioned in this poem i was asked to present at the convention. I hope it blesses someone as much as it blessed me. Stay blessed!

Personal Fasting

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” (Matthew 6:16-18).

Fasting, some of you sigh at the very thought. Don’t worry I’m not judging, I do the same. It is one of the hardest things yet at the same time one of the most powerful tools. Restraining our bodies from food/water and focusing on God, what a rewarding sacrifice.

Last week I fasted and let me tell you it was not easy. God, however, is very faithful and true to His word. I remember things that I had prayed for months before hand suddenly happen after the fasting. I can tell you now I was overjoyed. He is truly a rewarder. Then I got to thinking what was so different this time around? It hit me, most people didn’t know I was fasting, nor did I show that I was. Nowadays Christians have become so used to complaining. Am I right? we are quick to forget Matthew 6:16-18. Those who fast in secret get their great reward from God. However, if we fast publically and complain we have already received our reward (the attention). We always want people to know of our sufferings and hardships. We forget sometimes it is best to keep secretive so that God will bless us.

So if you are wondering like I used to. Why is it that when you fast nothing seems to change? well, take a step back and review yourself. Were you doing a public fasting or a personal fasting? Stay blessed!

He is a Rewarder of those who do not publicise.

Rooted In Christ

By Chidi Udemezue

Job 14:7-9 (NIV)
“At least there is hope for a tree. If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.
Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil,
Yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.”

There’s something magical about trees, no? The root is the organ of the tree and typically a lot bigger than the tree itself.
Is it a coincidence that there are references made throughout the bible to our relationship with Christ to be like the roots of a tree? The root is the ORGAN – what is needed to keep the tree alive. Strong roots are not easily uprooted, they span so far and so long that you probably would be unable to get to the beginning.

Recently, I felt almost very restless and a stirring, so I took my Mums car to run some errands but ultimately to go for a drive to clear my head. I think my best when I am outside, uninterrupted just me, my thoughts and the Holy Spirit.
I ended up parking next to an old school which has turned into a construction site. Literally bricks, rubbish, mess everywhere.
I felt like the Holy Spirit was saying ‘Okay see that school, how much pressure do you reckon it has taken to pull that school all the way down? The resistance? The force? And then how much more pressure and resistance do you reckon it will take to re-build it up again?’
See maybe you are like me and you feel like there is some resistance or pressure in your life. You feel restless and almost jumpy like “come on, I’m ready!”
But from that encounter I realized, when God is breaking things off you, e.g. your character, personality traits, habits etc. it is not a comfortable place to be in. Likewise, when He is re-building you and instilling in you what you need to be all that you want to be and more.

But then I realized, once He has finished building you up, how much will it take for you to come tumbling down again? Our roots, our organs need to be rooted in Christ so that if and when we are cut down (because God and life will serve us slices of humble pie if we aren’t careful) when the Holy Spirit comes again, we can still grow and shoot forth again.

I shared this on snapchat when I caught the revelation, but I’m really glad I have the opportunity to share on a wider platform!
I pray that somehow it touches you and encourages you to seek Gods face a little bit more so that your roots become planted firmer in Him!

Stay blessed,
