During A Storm

Hey lovelies, how are y’all doing? ๐Ÿ˜‡

I know it’s been a long minute since I have blogged๐Ÿ˜…. To be brutally honest, I have been neglecting God’s work for a long while now. Shocking, I know! Nonetheless, I know that no excuse I give is permissible.๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

I can just be truthful and say that I was in a big storm and hope what I learnt during this storm can resonate with you.

I can go on and on about the struggles, the distractions, the pain, COVID-19. However, God has a different purpose for this post.

It was only recently that I understood that the idea of my storm overpowering me was self conflicted.๐Ÿคฏ

Philippians 4:6, NKJV

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”

How quickly I had forgotten the power in those few words. I had allowed my life to become complete chaos because I chose for it to be chaotic. ๐Ÿ‘€

Please, read that again because I know someone can resonate with those words. Yes, a lot goes on in our lives and there are plenty of storms, but it’s how we handle those storms that affect us the most. In those times, we forget that we have such a capable God, a calmer of storms. “He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.” (Psalms 107:29, NKJV). I’m giving myself a little smile right now because I know God is not only speaking to me but also to you.

When storms come we can decide to go through alone or with God. Another factor we forget is that in that storm the Devil is greatly excited because that is where we are vulnerable and He will use this opportunity to feed us lies, fear and panic.

John 10:10, NKJV

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Let me paint the picture.

Storm comes -> tries to act calm and handle it alone ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ-> storm increases -> Okay panic settles in ๐Ÿ˜ฐ-> nothing is working, here comes fear and anxiety ๐Ÿ˜ซ+ devil’s happiness ๐Ÿ˜ˆ-> Still tries to do everything alone๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜“, add it all up = chaos๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿคก

It’s scenarios like these that cause us to see our storms much bigger than they are. Causes us to feel so out of place and evidently more further from God. This is not a favourable root to take

Sadly, it happens time and time again. I still fathom why we forget God in these times๐Ÿฅบ

As written in the scripture on how Jesus reacted to the disciples when the storm came (Luke 8:22-25, you can go read the whole story if you don’t know it) after calming the storm He said “Where is your faith?”(verse 25). Imagine how He reacts to us reacting to our storms.

Jesus: Where is your faith?

I was reminded of the verse

Psalms 55:22, NKJV

“Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

God knew these storms will come and we will feel the way we do. That’s the part that gets me, He knew, He Knew there will be storms and He gave us the stools to overcome. Through His word, clinging more onto Him and trusting Him moreโค๏ธ.

A champion example of total storms and chaos is David, I mean just read the Pslams. Nevertheless, David always looked to the Lord and indeed time and time again he was delivered๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ.

The thing I like about the storms is there’s always an outcome.

It can only go 2 ways

  1.  They pull you down
  2. They bring you up

You can keep getting carried away with the storm even after it’s over๐Ÿ˜ต

 or

You can learn from the storm and get stronger.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜

I recently listened to a Kirk Franklin song “just for me” which resonates a lot with this message

especially the partโ€ฆ

“But if necessary pain, Is the ingredient for change, Even when life may be bittersweet, It’s working, Just for me”

And those words are so true๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ. At the end of it, all these storms are for your good. God allows them to build you and make necessary changes in your life. Moreover, they allow you to be ready to do what God has prepared for you to do in that season.

If you are in a storm right now and struggling to get out and need God to carry you through. This might be your firsts time getting to know God or you might be rediscovering your faith. There are 2 key steps to accomplish

  1. Being born again
  2. Being filled with the spirit

To understand the 1st please visit (Salvation). For the 2nd please reach out to me and I will be able to guide you, I have not yet posted upon this topic but will soon.

God loves you and wants to help you during these tough times but only IF you allow Him.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

Stay blessed the most stylish was possible being the you that God made you to be ๐Ÿ™‚
