Isaiah 55:6, NKJV
“Seek the LORD while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.”
The presence of God is something that does not need to be obtained but is freely present. It’s how we connect and become conscious of His presence that makes the difference.
Psalms 139:7-12, NKJV
“7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.”
What is the presence of God? The presence of God is His ever dwelling spirit amongst us. There is nothing that can hide from His presence as seen in Psalm 139; even the darkness cannot hide from Him. There is nothing we can hide from God, good or bad. He is an omnipotent God, there is nowhere His hands cannot stretch to (Isaiah 59:1), 😱what a mighty God am I right? ✨
Now that we understand that the presence of God is forever present and it’s not something we can obtain for ourselves for His spirit dwells freely amongst us, what next? 🤷🏾♀️How can we connect with God when His presence is here?🧐
You see God is not a forceful God, He gave us free will.
Proverbs 16:1-9, NKJV
“1 The preparations of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
But the LORD weighs the spirits.
3 Commit your works to the LORD,
And your thoughts will be established.
4 The LORD has made all for Himself,
Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.
5 Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD;
Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
6 In mercy and truth
Atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil.
7 When a man’s ways please the LORD,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Better is a little with righteousness,
Than vast revenues without justice.
9 A man’s heart plans his way,
But the LORD directs his steps.”
Here in this scripture, it shows the free will we have to follow our own desires and ways. However, it is wiser and more beneficial to depend on God and His ways.
The most vital factor for connecting with God’s presence comes down to us and the word of God.
John 1:1, NKJV
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:12, NKJV
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:”
These two scriptures are the key to connecting with God in His presence.
One, we must understand that the word of God is indeed God himself. And two, that the divine plan of God – Jesus dying on the cross for us was God’s way of bringing back our ability to reconnect with Him through Jesus Christ.
This is a very simple formula:
we come to God with His word (which is technically Him) + God’s presence = connecting with God
Let’s go a bit further.
John 15:5-7, NKJV
“5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
This talks of abiding in God. What is to “abide”, it is to remain in Him, to be fixated on Him, the same as He is always with us.
Furthermore, remember how I said the word of God is God himself well God goes further to say whoever “abides” in ME and my WORD abides in YOU, whatever you desire it shall be done 🤯(verse 7). I mean remember the formula it is our job to come with the word of God to Him in His presence. This enables us to connect with Him in spirit and as we do this God hearkens His ears to us and He hears our desires (Psalms 10:17, NKJV:
LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will prepare their heart;
You will cause Your ear to hear,)
If you are not amazed at this point by how God prepared all this for us, I don’t know what else will at this point. The realisation that God loved us so much that He was so desperate to have us connect with Him again, He sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for us (John 3:16). So that we could once again be His children (John 1:12), having His word in our hearts (this is totally a whole topic for another day). So that we could all connect with Him this way. I can’t help but think WHAT AN AMAZING, LOVING GOD! 🥰😍🥺and I just need to know who else agrees🙋🏾♀️.
Not only this, there are so many more benefits that come with having the presence of God and being in His presence, but that is a topic for next week so stay tuned😁
This month we will be dwelling mostly on the topic of the presence of God and its benefits. ❤️
Stay blessed the most stylish way possible, being the you that God made you to be 😊
