The Size Doesn’t Matter, The Heart Does

opost 2

Hey ladies, how have you been? How is the week going so far? If hectic, don’t worry because same! But the God we love and serve is our strength “I will love You, O Lord, my strength.”(Psalms 18:1) So keep having strength sisters.

Today’s topic: The size of a Church compared to the hearts of the Church

Okay, What I have discovered is that no matter the size of the Church, God looks for one thing and is present for that one thing that is a right heart. That is why God doesn’t worry about size “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20). Those who are gathered for Him shall feel his presence. So, what is this right heart? The right heart is a heart that has gathered to worship the Lord in SPIRIT and in TRUTH “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24)

Nowadays, we have to be careful about big flashy congregations, though they may attract us, the presence of God might not be there. Fame, power, whatever their intentions may be might hinder the presence of the Lord from entering because their hearts and spirits are not in the right place. The service then turns into a concert, just an entertainment to please people NOT GOD.

Don’t get me wrong ladies, I’m not rebuking all big churches because some do have the right heart. I’m just saying open your minds and eyes, don’t be blinded to the intentions of Churches. Look around, be alert, ask yourself are they here for God or man? look at your own intentions, why are you at that church? Are you there for God, for people or for the entertainment?

This is an area many Christians fail in and end up being lead astray. A really good way to help you be sure is to KNOW THE WORD. When you know the word of God you can never be lead astray. Whether you like it or not there are false prophets and not everyone who preaches to you will be giving you the truth “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”(Matthew 7:15). This is why you should know the word for yourself so that you can judge and gain the real truth.

Next time you go to church don’t be amazed by the quantity of it or the talent, however, be amazed by the presence of God in a church. For God does not look at the size, He looks for those true worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Stay blessed!

It’s not about the size, it’s about the heart.

Alone Time With God

opost 1.jpg

Hey, lovely ladies, I am back! A few changes have happened over these past 2 months. All I can say is that I have learnt a few things that I know I must share with you all.

So, Ladies and those gentlemen who have stumbled here WELCOME! I urge you all to feel free in this place, be encouraged in the Lord, communicate and share your opinions.

Today’s topic: Alone time with God.
How is your alone time looking with God?
Strong, medium, weak, non-existent

This is the very question I have been asking myself. I realised it’s easy at first to get motivated to make time for God. For a solid week or so, you will really do the most, prayer, reading the word every day for 1-2 hours. Then just as you’re starting to feel good with the process life decides to get complicated. Now you find yourself struggling to scrap 30min of your time for God. It then slowly turns to barely fitting 5 mins and a short verse in there. Sounds familiar? If so please continue reading.

Why is it so hard for us to commit time to God? Well, it’s something I discovered today as I was writing this. As Humans, it’s easier for us to believe in things we can see “..because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29). Hence making it easier for us to commit to those things. Like with jobs, we can commit to them because we can see the immediate results of them in our bank’s accounts. However, with God, we can’t see Him and the uncertainty of the outcomes with God makes it difficult for us to commit to Him. Even this was evident with the 1st century Israelites’ behaviour. They could see the golden statuses they worshipped but they couldn’t see God this made it easier for them the commit to the others gods such as Baal than God.

This is not the way it should be right? With all God has evidently done in our lives we would assume it to be easier, well no. The Israelites had many wonders performed by God from crossing the red sea, manna provided in the wilderness to enemies handed to them in battle. Still, they turned back from God time and time again.

Commitment really comes down to how much do you love God? Because as far as I’m concerned He loved us so much as unto death (John 3:16). Surely the least we can do to show our love back is by making time to grow and communicate with Him through reading his word and prayer. Just as two people decide to love and commit to one another through marriage that is exactly how we should treat ourselves with God.

Don’t get it twisted I know we are all humans and we make mistakes. Even for myself, I know this is something easier said than done. Well lucky for those who are like me there is a solution. FAITH AND STRENGTH. These are gained by praying to God for the faith and strength to carry on growing with Him one step at a time. Stay blessed!

You don’t need to start with big steps, the little steady steps are the ones that are going to get you there.
