So Far From Perfect

Hey ladies, how has everybody’s day been? I’m excited about this week because it has started off on a good note. I was listening to this song “I am” by Kirk Franklin and it really gave me that extra boost I needed for this week.

Before the song came on, I was actually thinking of what an unproductive last week I had. Remembering all the mishaps and disappointing efforts I had made to connect more with God. It was like at that very moment God responded to my negative thoughts with this song. We are so far from perfect. Every day is not always going to be an award winning good day. There are times where it will be dark and still. In these moments we should think of what the Lord has done. How through His saving grace we found a purpose in life. We once thought life had no meaning but then God gave it a meaning.

With God, every day becomes a victorious day because He has fashioned them for you “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them” (Psalms 139:16). He wouldn’t put more on you than you can bear “but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,” (1 Corinthians 10:13). And GIRL! don’t get it twisted, there will be times where you will surely fall. But that’s when the grace of God will be upon you and He will “MAKE ALL THINGS NEW”.

So, if you’re in the same position of thinking about all the negativity in your life, what you have and have not achieved. GURL, STOP! for your sake and His. Trust in the Lord, He will make you a winner. Stay blessed!

The Way Of Salvation

post20

Okay, I have been meaning to post about this topic for a very long time. Many people don’t understand when you start to talk about salvation to them. Some believe salvation is when you choose to become a Christian, others think it’s when you believe that Jesus is real and is the Son of God.

Salvation is not only about believing in Christ but also RECEIVING Him. Salvation is the divine plan of God for us to be in connection with Him again. To not experience death through sin but be free from sin and have everlasting life in heaven.

1st we need to understand that we are all born sinner, through one man. and with sin came death. “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12)

2nd we need knowledge of the saviour. Jesus Christ came on this earth to fulfil this divine plan of God.”For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.” (1 Corinthians 15:21). Through the blood that was shed at the cross, we are free from the bondage of sin. We gain everlasting life in heaven. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,[a] and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)

3rdly there is only 1 way to salvation, not 2, 5, or 10 but 1. Through Jesus Christ we obtain Salvation. I was on twitter the other day, you know doing my thang. I came across this tweet speaking of people in church complaining about how God only made 1 way and why not many ways. This is unacceptable, we should be grateful and rejoice that God loved us so much to even give us 1 way. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Okay, knowing this you are now aware of salvation. You’re probably thinking great, with this information surely I now have salvation. Girl, No! It’s not enough to just know it, you have to call on Jesus Christ and receive Him in your life. “For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Once you have received you are now born again and you are now a new creature. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:17). You now have a connection to the Father through Jesus Christ. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6). Stay Blessed!

Guideline for A Prayer to receive Salvation
1. Acknowledge that you now understand that you are a sinner and Christ came so that you may be saved “Lord, God, I now know that I am a sinner and cannot save myself, but you sent your son, Jesus Christ. Who carried my sins at the cross and died, that I may be saved and be free from the bondage of sin.”
2. Ask for Jesus to come into your life “Lord, Jesus come into my life, be my personal saviour, wash me clean of all my sins, make me a new creature.”
3. Declare that you are no longer of the world but you now belong to the kingdom of God and resist the devil “Devil I resist you, you have no control over my life, I am not yours, I am no longer of the world but I now belong to God, I am now a child in the Kingdom of God.”
4. Thank God for salvation and receive it “Thanking God for this salvation through your son, Jesus Christ. I receive this salvation today. IN JESUS NAME. Amen.”

A Thank you Not A demand

post19

Firstly, just want to thank you all for viewing and supporting this blog. I hope what I write blesses someone out there. I want to continue to communicate with you ladies and just get to know all of you. So, do not fear to comment or go on my contacts page and send me a message. Also, many thanks to all the lovely women who have written posts for this blog and may God continue to bless each and every one of you.

You might be wondering, how odd, she’s starting with acknowledgements. Well, you bet I am. Last week was Thanksgiving at my church. It got me thinking and thanking God for everyone He has put in my path to build this blog and those of you who view it, many thanks to you all. Most importantly thanks be unto God for all He has done for me.

You know, we get so caught up in this mess we call life that we sometimes forget the reason we are living right now, it’s not that of luck but by the grace of God, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). We don’t realise how much we actually depend on God. So fixed on our problems and struggles that our prayers end up consisting of demands, pleads and sorrow. when it should actually be filled more with Thanksgiving, glorification and rejoicing.

See when you give thanks to God instead of demanding from him, it allows God to work more in your life. Like the philosophy looking at the glass as half full rather than half empty. Thank God for the half full things in your life and watch Him fill the rest of the cup with blessings until it over flows. God loves to be appreciated. When we appreciate it excites God, easily allowing Him to do His work in our lives.

Okay, probably at this point, you are thinking what is she talking about? Listen, GIRL! trust me, I’m a living testimony of this. Thanking and praising God does more in your life. But wait! there’s more! not only will you be blessed, you will also build your spiritual self and connection with God. With that, you start to build a stronger dependence and trust on God. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

Understanding the equation now? With thanks comes connection, which builds a trust, that leads to blessings. Be encouraged ladies give thanks to God even in times of darkness. “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). Stay blessed!

A little thank you unto God can go a long way in opening your doors.
